Madame De Pompadour Styled Shoot.
Weddings are about personalisation and creativity conflated. Last Autumn, I brought together a wonderful team of Yorkshire based luxury wedding creatives to design a "Madame De Pompadour" styled wedding shoot.
Madame De Pompadour was the long-standing mistress of King Louis XV of France. Pompadour created a sphere of influence that included the decorative arts and fashion. I thought this would obviously work wonderfully well as a theme for the shoot.
Madame de Pompadour became a patron to men of science and letters. Her personal library held more than 3,500 volumes. We chose red, pink and gold as our colour palette and created a stunning table scape in the library room (inspired by Madame De Pompadour's love for reading) as well as a romantically designed aisle in the ceremony room.
The styled shoot was captured by one of Yorkshire's finest photographer (Photography by Kathryn). I couldn't have chosen a better photographer to capture the opulence and grandeur I had visioned. Kathryn's wedding photography is stylish and definitely unobtrusive. Having have worked together on another project, it was a matter of time till I brought the same team again for yet another fantastic shoot.
Our spectacular floral arrangement were designed by Minnie Bees floral design. Our carefully designed floral centrepieces were arranged with romantic roses, hydrangeas and currently in trend, Orchids. We also infused a hint of Purple which was Madame De Pompadour's favourite colour. The table scape had plenty of detailing such as a decadent, sequin table linen from Gilded Linens as well as gold napkin rings.
Our avante garde table stationery was custom designed by Red Bliss design. I couldn't have been any more excited to work with such a reputable yet quality artistry design company. I love the blend of modern and classic that Red Bliss design used to create an unconventional wedding place and menu card.
Of course, we needed a modern Madame Pompadour to add an extra touch of elegance to the shoot. The elegant styling of our modern Madame Pompadour (Eve - Model) couldn't have been possible without Alison Jane Bridal. The simplicity of the Alexia gown with it's mermaid silhouette hugged our modern Madame De Pompadour's body seamlessly!!! The dress had some gorgeous lace detailing and we added a simple yet classic bird cage veil for an extra touch of elegance.
To infuse modernity, we added a stunning statement headpiece from M by Minihaha's 16" collection as well as statement gold earrings from M by Minihaha as well. Glam by Elizabeth Daisy dolled up our Madame De Pompadour. Through the history of Madame de Pompadour; she also kick-started the Sèvres porcelain factory, and employed the Rococo style copiously in art and decor; a deep pink popular in this décor became known as "Pompadour Pink." We wanted Eve's makeup to replicate flirty, sexy but yet classy so we used a bold pink lipstick to compliment the overall design palette.
What's a wedding without a cake? Our masterpiece was designed by Poppy Pickering and they couldn't have chosen a better design for the concept I envisioned. The gorgeous cake had bold red detailing, something out of the ordinary but with stunning gold leaves and a delicate red rose.
Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour also shared an appreciation of animals, amassing a menagerie that included domestic constant companions: her little dog. So our grande final extra was a Chihuahua named Prince to replicate Madame de Pompadour's love for animals.
A special thanks to the team for allowing my vision board come to life in a short space of time. Thank you and I couldn't be any more proud of what we have accomplished.
